DELASCO ELECTRICATOR HANDPIECE: PART NO.26300

Inspection
Inspect the Handpiece upon receipt. If damage has occurred during shipment, do not use and notify Delasco immediately.

Instructions for Use and Reuse
  1. The Delasco Electricator Handpiece, part #26300, is the only Handpiece designed to be used with the Delasco Electricator Do not attempt to use the Handpiece on any other unit, or any other Handpiece with the Electricator.
  2. Prior to use, sterilize the Handpiece using the instructions supplied below.
  3. Insert the Handpiece connector into the unit by aligning the handpiece connector and the unit receptacle. The connection must be secure for proper function.
  4. Insert an Electrode into the Handpiece and tighten the handpiece collar so that the electrode is secure (3/32"(.24cm) and 1/16" (.16cm) shaft size Electrodes manufactured by other suppliers may be used with the handpiece). Set the unit dial setting to the lowest setting.
  5. To activate the Handpiece, press the round blue Handpiece button. Rotate the output dial on the unit, or, press the up button on the handpiece until the desired output level is obtained. The activation button must remain pressed for activation to occur.
  6. At the completion of the procedure, remove the Electrode from the Handpiece and the Handpiece from the unit. Resterilize the Handpiece prior to reuse.
  7. Place the Handpiece in the holder on the front panel of the Electricator when not in use.
  8. To reduce the potential of Handpiece contamination during procedures, please use Part #26100 Electrosurgical Handpiece Sheath.
Sterilization Instructions
Use aseptic procedures when handling and sterilizing the Handpiece.
  1. Wipe and remove all debris present on the Handpiece.
  2. Place the Handpiece in an autoclavable pouch or wrapped cloth.
  3. Steam sterilize for a period of 20 minutes at 250°F(121°C) (Do not flash autoclave or exceed 250°F). Consult manufacturers' recommendations, or the AAMI recommended practice for Steam Sterilization Using The Wrapped Method.
  4. Allow the Handpiece to cool for 30 minutes prior to use.
  5. Inspect the Handpiece after sterilization for damage. If the Handpiece has deteriorated or cracked, or severe discoloration or damage has occurred, discard the Handpiece.
